The trouble is that you think you have time.
But you don’t. You never will. You may be able to control the space around you, fabricate the place you live in, buy it, shape it, bend it to your will…but never will you be able to stop the time you spend there. The time you spend with yourself there. The time you spend with others there.
Never.
The earth will spin and the tides will rise and the stars will wink on and off and your greatest pain will always be the knowledge you learned too late. You are making your own history with every breath. What happens doesn’t really matter. What matters is whether or not you are happening.
What you do today, how you spend your time, this is what matters most. No fire, no wind, no flood, no child, no death will ever erase your deeds. Deeds both big and small, good or bad, grand or sad. So live every act fully, as if it were your first. Because there is only one time when it is essential to awaken.
And that time is now.
